Fun - Educational Camp

A necklace of Hope signifies our attempts at improving the world in which we live. The actions we take today help affect the type of world we will live in tomorrow.

Planica Fun-Ed participants have been acknowledged for their positive contribution toward this goal by receiving a necklace, which signifies their efforts. Each action is acknowledged by a variety of beads. Green beads signify the actions that are environmentally focused, while the blue beads signify the actions that are community-building focused (including leadership skills, communication skills,…) It is to be noted that the beads on the necklace are not a reward---but an acknowledgement of the individual’s efforts. The reward is the action itself!

Individuals can add to their necklace by continuing to participate actively. The individuals select their activity (which could be at Planica, at school, at home, in their community,…) and they carry out their goals. They then record their actions on a sheet included in this binder and present their successes to a select group of Planica adults.

I encourage the adults to aid the little ones in making steps that will build community, improve the environment (our home), and most of all build our children’s self-confidence, self-esteem and empathy to all living creatures of the Creator’s world.
